Hi *|FNAME|*,

Welcome to our April newsletter. Below we have articles on password management, the current issues with supply shortages, the cost of IT downtime along with photos of some of our recent adventures.

There is now a new domain name extension available for businesses to register within Australia. The extension is just .au (ie you do not need a .com.au or .net.au) so you can have <yourbusinessname>.au (ie dpcomputing.au).

Until the 20th of September 2022 all businesses that already have <yourbusinessname>.com.au can register <yourbusinessname>.au. After this date the .au domains names are available for the public and anyone can purchase them.

Our recommendation is to purchase it now to help solve any future copyright / trademark issues. Depending on your current setup we can also integrate your new domain with your current website and email so both your current .com.au domain and your new .au domain work and point to the same email and website. Please contact us to assist with registering your new domains.

A lot of people have seen our photos on social media about us installing a satellite system called Starlink in various locations. A lot of those people have asked what is it about and why is it such a game changer. To find out more information check out this YouTube video which explains some of the reasons why billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson are scrambling to get satellites up and running.

If you have any further questions regarding Starlink or whether it will be a suitable option for your business please let us know.

To help us improve our online public profile and help us to continue to grow and improve our business I would appreciate it if you could leave a review of our services on Google and / or Facebook. Please let me know or see our instructions here for more information on submitting a review.

Out and About

April is now here and daylight saving ending soon. During March here are some of the things we have ben up to:

David and Paul hosted an interstate partner and were lucky to have this view overlooking Adelaide Oval yesterday during the meeting on the Riverbank Promenade.

Bevin and Stefan were out visiting some wineries in the McLaren Vale are doing some network and system upgrades.

Bevin and Zee had a few nice drives out to Murray Bridge to help out with a server problem at a school and perform some system audits for another client.

Paul has been busy testing some of the new gen 2 Starlink dishes.

Ben and Zee have been busy most weekday nights installing Cisco routers, switches and access points.

One of our projects is now coming to a close and another is about to ramp up, so the nightly jobs will continue for at least a few more months.

If you see either Ben or Zee and they look a bit tired please excuse them as they may have been working up until around 3 / 4AM the night before!
